I have a new family member !
There is now a buff-colored , green-eyed beauty to share my home .
My decision not to adopt any more furry friends after the much mourned demise of the last of my aged pets seemed firm . A friend saw a pair of black and white cats online at a local shelter and thought I'd be interested . My cats were black and white . I headed to that shelter and mid-trip realized that , as my cats lived from 14-17 years , these boys could easily outlive me...not a fair prospect for anyone ! So , I asked to see older cats , who aren't as easily adopted . The extensive "meet and greet" resulted in bringing home eleven year old Gabby . Her name , given by the shelter was not a diminutive of Gabrielle , but referred to her very chatty self !
The day between meeting and homecoming was filled with a mad dash for supplies and equipment for her . Funny , I thought the toys much beloved by my other cats would be well received by this one . Nooooo . Turning her delicate nose up to all the offered goodies , what does she prefer ? Rubber bands !!!
Involved one day in food prep , I didn't notice a thick rubber band fall to the floor . Shortly thereafter , there was a prolonged scuffle behind me . There she was , pouncing , chasing and batting it like a mad thing...for 20 minutes ! Who knew ?
My dear Gabby , now curled up in the chair behind me as I write , is gentle , affectionate and very cuddly . I am so very grateful to my friend for her referral !

Also I update the blog with latest template, all the great gadgets, etc.
