May

We are safely into the month of May . True to form , the April showers did bring May flowers !
The gorgeous ornamental flowering cherry trees had bubble-gum pink drifts of blossoms at their
feet . Breezes carried flurries of tiny white petals and there were flowers everywhere . Last night's thunderstorm and overnight rain revealed an expected result . Everywhere one looked , the edges of the roads were frosted with dayglo green , dissolved in milky chartreuse puddles . For the uninitiated , the pollen clogging our airways and tearing our eyes was being washed from every outdoor horizontal surface by the rain . The shear volume of the stuff is staggering ! It's
everywhere ! The good news , for now , is that it is out of the air for today .
The temperatures are warmer ( even with the rain , they're in the mid- to high 70's ) and summer beckons from a distance . Outdoor projects are begun , shorts and sleeveless tops make their appearance , with wide smiles for our accessories .
