Tea and Conversation

Here I am !
I sat down to write a bit and was interrupted by the Ever Expanding Cat's bellow for attention . She used to be so demure...guess old age has made her impatient with manners . Our weather has been varied and weird...one day will be in the 80's , followed by 40 degree nights and 60 degree days ! The E.E.Cat migrates from one sunny spot to another , curling up of course on the white chairs . She favors the artistic statement of drifts of her black hair contrasting with the upholstery . The futile effort of clearing away said contrast on a daily basis was solved by covering the newly cleaned seats with pretty pillowcases ( easily washed ) .
Her other favorite napping place is the comforter at the foot of my bed . It has not yet found rest in storage because of the quirky weather , and serves as a cozy nest for my old girl . The challenge in that site comes when I want to nap . Sleepy eyes find it difficult to see the black kitty against the dark navy comforter and one wonders why the cover is suddenly so heavy ! There is much mewing complaint about being moved...the comforter is hoisted to the proper level for warm dozing...aaand we're off...almost...The Ever Expanding Cat , miffed at being moved , now begins the process of resettling . There is much circling , kneading , mewing... Not satisfied with her current position , she walks back and forth across the top of my pillow several times , stepping on my hair . One is torn between impatience and serious giggles at the absurdity of it
all ! Just when it seems all hope of rest is gone , she settles curled against my hip , sighs and goes to sleep . Aaahhhh...Now , to sleep before she begins to snore !
