Sweet Tea & conversation... a lovely way to spend a day

Everyone In Their Places , Please !

Today is Sunday and the sun has been shining brightly all day . The Ever Expanding Cat basks in the pools of warmth...a satisfied smile on her dear face . The heat must feel good on those old
bones . She will be 14 "people" years old this Spring (98 sprightly feline years) . Cats live an odd life...seemingly centered on satisfying their needs on their own schedule . They awaken in the morning , seek food , then company and retire for a nap . This sequence is repeated throughout the day and evening , varying only slightly , until bedtime arrives . They punch no time clock ,
refuse to be accountable to anyone except themselves , and live life pretty much as they please .
The trick seems to be to obtain a human who's willing to put up with all this . One sign in a country catalog proclaimed that "Dogs have masters ;Cats have staff" . It would be hilarious ,were it not so true ! Folks without pets are aghast at the efforts expended toward the comfort of our furry
friends . There is , however , great comfort in the interaction . She seems to know when she's needed . If I am burdened with the concerns of the day , surely the sudden arrival of a large furry thing with claws , launched from across the room , landing squarely in my lap , dispells all other thoughts ! In the extended time needed for her to settle herself to her satisfaction , thoroughly cover my clothes with fine black cathair and purr loudly , the stress is gone . One look at that adoring face and goofy grin seems to put things in perspective . This is , it would seem ,
her
house , not mine...and I find myself staff after all .

  1. Awwww your post brought a big smile (just like your kitty's) to my face. So true what you write and wish we could see a picture of ever expanding cat lol
Such a cute post ! loved it !
    You write so wonderfully ♥
It's a rainy day here and pup has turned into mud, looks like i will be hosing him off quite a few times throughout the day. He loves to go and slosh around in the puddles just like a little boy.
