Autumn Jewels

The exuberant moods of summer have given way to more somber ones for autumn , The beaches are bereft of throngs bared and boisterous . Our roads are now passable for the locals . Even the scent in the air is different - crisp and earthy , with the occasional whiff of woodsmoke from a cozy fireplace . If July's fireworks are but a dim memory , the trees now step forward with a brilliant show of their own . Those leaves hardy enough to still be attached are presented in amazing jeweler's tones...garnet and ruby reds , canary diamond's yellows , the varied hues of topaz (including the breathtaking oranges !) . What a feast for the eyes ! Cameras try to capture what eyes only can appreciate fully . What a gift !
Turkey time approaches with all its plans and preparations. There will be time to see family and then spend the day with dearest friends . Despite the sorrows of the year , there is much to be thankful for...including you , dear readers ! Enjoy what your day brings !
