Sweet Tea & conversation... a lovely way to spend a day

Monday

After a deadly-quiet (no pun intended) weekend , Monday has arrived . Our family being far-flung , the steady stream of visitors folks usually complain about doesn't exist for us . Today , the Hospice RN was here (the aide is due later ) to check on us . Mother has no hunger for food , so her usual breakfast tray sits forlorn on the kitchen counter . Thr RN did a study during her training on this stage of life and learned that far from causing pain , the lack of food actually results in a kind of euphoria for end-of-life patients . Good to know . All is being provided for her care and comfort...Hospice is an amazing organization...what a blessing !
Today may bring a trip to the supermarket for much-needed items and more of those wonderful peaches...my personal favorite ! Because they're shipped under-ripe , a few days in a paper bag with an apple brings them to perfect ripeness...all fragrant and juicy...a delight for the senses !!! So many blessings !
I'll take this time to have a quiet breakfast before Mother wakes up . Have a special day...
