Sweet Tea & conversation... a lovely way to spend a day

Joy in Strange Places

Usually , the arrival of Mother's aide begins a planned outing . Today was a notable exception , with absolutely no idea of how to spend the free time . Winter's obligatory adding to the fat layer has left me with no dresses that fit nor are acceptable to the current fashion trend (whatever that is) . Remembering some of the tips from that makeover show , I trotted off to Boscov's to see what could be had for extreme sale prices . Well ! There before me was a genuine-old-fashioned-may-I-help-you? saleswoman ! She was thrilled to help me sort through all the offerings to find something that would fill the bill and was eager to check out whatever was tried on. Loaded with an armload of goodies and a guide, I headed into the dreaded fitting room . Now , in times past , each hanger brought increasing disappointment until the whole venture was abandoned in tears and disgust . Not so today, ladies ! For some unknown reason , the cosmos resonated with good vibes , and most of what came with me actually fit ! Not being one with "deep pockets " , the choices were narrowed to two...one that would morph to rise to any occasion with the proper accessories (and looked good ! ) and a second that was so cute,it could not be left behind (I realized not buying that one would be a real regret ) . Between all the discounts and incentives , they ended up costing a little more than planned , but were worth every penny ! Whahooo ! I left the store on wings , grinning from ear to ear . It wasn't the purchases , per se,that did it , but the whole mini-makeover experience...feeling special , cared for and pulled together...deep sigh...a very good day !
