I love to see how things are done ! Those paternal engineering genes seem to have trickled down and show up at the strangest times. The latest appearance was over the weekend during an airing of "This Old House" and its spinoff show," Ask this Old House " ,on PBS. During the first,a second floor deck was being installed and the second was an on-site remedy for a badly settled concrete walkway. Each used novel solutions for these challenges and watching their implimentation was wonderful ! Outside-the-box problem solving involves a degree of creativity that forces you to use more braincells than usually see the light of day.It is exhilarating to witness ! The context doesn't seem to matter...it is the process itself . How many times a day do we reach for the unconventional,when the usual is not available ? It may take several attempts ,but" success is 90% perspiration and 10% inspiration" !
