Funny how something catches ones eye and engenders an instant opinion . Logging onto a webpage , an article title stood out . "Not All Men Are Dogs ",read the trailer for dating information . One would not feel the need for a disclaimer if the predominant evaluation were incorrect ! Perhaps the problem comes from a misleading terminology . Ask a World War II era person of either gender to define a "man"...their answer will include terms of character.They will speak of someone who is honorable,brave,kind,hardworking,loyal,admirable and able to wisely and lovingly care for others . A "man " is able to define his priorities and goals and work toward them for his own good and that of his family . He is eager to marry the love of his life and have children while he is young enough to devote quality time to them,while making a good life for them all . Today , a "man" is simply a term denoting an adult male . There is nothing to qualify the creature as in previous times...nothing to hold a person up to for comparison and guidelines for growth . What we are stuck with are merely "guys"...old teenagers...who feel no responsibility for their own character and its development,nor for others,at all . Their focus seems to be one of self satisfaction and the resultant behavior is whatever is necessary to obtain whatever gratification they seek at the moment . He is not interested in making a commitment to his wife and family and making a life for and with them . He is interested in making a living,and only that if it allows him time to play and cool toys to play with . Relationships are correctly viewed as a hormonal teen male on the prowl,which can be unsavory,at best when the old teen's self view doesn't match up with his current form . Articles on "how to catch a man" ,considering the change of definition,are as frustrating to follow as those assemble-it-yourself furniture instructions that have been translated into English from a foreign language by foreigners .No amount of hints on decoding your "man" by the contents of his car/apartment/wallet will be of any help . What a real woman is looking for is a real man and they are few and far between .
