Miracle...Take Two

It is very late and I am sleepy." Go to bed,then", you say ?" Why stay up ?" I am in the throes of dazzled admiration . My wild,primitive epiphyllum cactus has,against all odds , opened another blossom tonight ! You know , the same plant about which I waxed rhapsodic in June(go to the archives !) . The house is enfused with that heady scent of Stargazer lilies...intense and sweet and overpowering. My dear ,petite neighbor made the late night trek in her robe and slippers and was stunned to speachlessness at the sight of this blossom ! Funny , when one speaks of a cactus blossom , the mind picture is of a tiny , spikey ,desert thing . The contrast with tonight's star is like that of a drippy sink to Niagara Falls ! The blossom will wax then wane towards morning,looking like a princess's discarded ball gown. This green Cinderella may be back to business as usual tomorrow,but she has left devoted admirers in her wake,eager to share the vision of exquisite beauty they were priveleged to observe tonight !
