The Ever Surprising Gabby

Presented with a morning with no obligations , I gleefully went into "cooking mode" .
First on the list was to cook the turkey bacon defrosting in the refrigerator since last night .
Set on sprayed foil on a cookie sheet , the strips were put into a 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (they were thin slices...thicker cuts require more time) . Puttering around the kitchen , I noticed a lovely scent wafting through the room about halfway through the cooking process...nothing like the smell of bacon ! Surprisingly , I was not the only one to notice ! I could hear the plaintive calls , increasing in volume as Gabby approached . She began the begging dance...you know , the one where a cat will rub up against your legs , meowing softly and looking up at you with adoring eyes...she has it down pat . Looking back at her in disbelief , saying "  BACON ???   REALLY ??!!?? "
Once fully cooked and cooled , a tiny piece of bacon was duly cut to bits , floated in water and
served . By the time I stepped back to watch , it was gone !...duly Hoovered !!
She is a most surprising roommate !
