I received a letter from my doctor announcing he will no longer accept my insurance company and that I must find another doctor before August 31st .
This comes as no surprise , as he seemed to have one foot out the door for a while . The office hours were cut to mornings only and subsequent visits didn't display his usual concern for my health , nor interest in my questions . The man in question is an older gentleman and retirement is not out of the question .
The next order of business was to find a replacement . A dear friend recommended one who had seen her in an emergency situation and seemed well trained and sympathetic . The first visit was arranged and completed , lab work ordered and drawn . The next task is to have their office arrange referrals to the specialists I currently use . As the referred doctors are in my network and actually referred by my previous doctor , there should be no problem .
These days , one must personally cross every "T" and dot every "I" to ensure proper care . ...sigh... Remember when the doctor arrived at your house , black bag in hand , and was able to handle whatever ailed you ??
What a crummy doctor!
