Hi !

Can't believe it's been so long since the last post !
Today is grey and lightly raining...the temperature not expected to rise above 66 degrees , with more of the same due tomorrow . I do so long for warm weather . This chill and dampness seems to go right through you .
Mother is off to daycare and the day opens before me with no concrete plans . The pond is in dire need of cleaning to accommodate the new fishies promised by a friend...the side garden beds need weeding and mulch...the dogwood needs pruning and the climbing rose begs for the confines of wise staking . All seems in a wild state...unhappy and ignored by the caregiver (that would be me !) .
During the visit to Mother's doctor this week , he told me each "event " , whether hospitalization or illness , would cause a "step down " for her competance...not the news hoped for . She is now spoon-fed , too tired or unmotivated to do the deed herself . Coming up with a menu of tasty , nutritious foods that can be mooshed is a challenge , as they must also be quick to prepare . Mother is very clingy and insecure , necessitating my constant closeness while she's awake . My chores for self and home are increasingly difficult to accomplish with her increased needs . Adjustments and time-savers are pressed into service to get the jobs done as best I can .
Somehow , attending to gardening in the rain has no appeal today . The fantasy of choice would be snuggled under warm comforters in a cosy bed to sleep away the troubles .
