Front Porch Mystery

After Mother left for her daycare , I went outside to water the hanging plants on our front porch . In the middle of the floor was a small tomato plant , waiting for its installment into the waiting planter . It was not where it was last night , tucked in with others needing planting , but in the midst of soil scattered out of its pot . Upon closer inspection , the sprouting top of the plant had been neatly nipped away . Hmmmmm... One doesn't need Sherlock Holmes to deduce a nosy deer as the culprit ! It's not as though there isn't enough green stuff to nibble on , after all this rain . Why must Bambi trouble herself with my tiny tomato plant ??? Perhaps she's miffed that her favorite snack , my prized Oriental lily , is now protected form her grazing by prickly holly branches . Perhaps she hoped for ripe tomatoes and her timing is just a little off .
No matter ! Time for the "Deer Stopper" to make its appearance and spray its repellant wonderfullness all over my plants . Bambi will have to dine elsewhere !

  1. Awww Katy, you have such a beautiful blog and you could easily turn it into a book.
Your stories and the words that you choose just touch my heart.

I am so glad you left a comment because I thought I had you bookmarked but after searching I found that I didn't have it and you've been on my mind, and I so much wanted to visit with you again.

Your Mother is so lucky to have you! Your an Angel for her! It certainly can't be easy, but the love shows through.

Loved your description of the ocean!
