Update on the Run

I have but a moment...Mother's return came on Saturday , as she had to "accomplish " something before they felt it safe for her to return home . The time since then has been draining ...for both of us. Added to the mix of invalid care is the dreaded Foley catheter...dreaded because of its strangeness to Mother and her resultant attempts to take it out ! It requires very specific care to insure freedom from infection , proper recording of fluid intake and outgo and the mechanics of it's general use . I find myself waking around 6:30 am and racing to get myself and all pertinent preparations completed before Mother awakes . It's like getting ready for work...knowing whatever isn't ready won't be ready until she sleeps again ! There are many dashes to her room to check her degree of wakefulness and back to complete "just one more thing " . The Visiting Nurses will come to help with the Foley and check her out . I am so grateful for all the care provided . After a full day , I seem to "crash and burn " and go to bed when Mother does...a real social butterfly...gotta go ...she's up...
