Harbingers of Spring

As I look out the window , it is snowing . Not to worry , dears...signs abound to indicate impending Spring . No...not the rock salt and snow shovel resting at the ready outside the front door ! The supermarkets now display tulips and primroses to delight the winter-weary . Their colors are vibrant and smell...somehow...green ! Card shops offer vast quantities of Valentines...springtime for the heart ! The surest sign of all , of course , is the sell-off by department stores of all the winter apparel ! Bikinis have been spotted in Target...pastel colors are sprouting where "sensible" earthtones held sway during the cold months . There may be six more weeks of this chilly weather...thanks to that famous groundhog...but the promise of Spring beckons us onward...
