Celebrations

Last night,Mother and I were invited to a wonderful party ! The setting was perfect for those of us for whom social gatherings are frought with uncertainty . We were in the company of dear friends who know us well...and like us anyway !!
The food was amazing ! Spread out before us was an array of finger foods sure to satisfy every palate , and we "grazed" our way through it all in a valiant attempt to eliminate leftovers for our hostess ! Our efforts fell short of the goal , but the satisfied smiles of the guests paid tribute to her bounty !
We played guessing games that even the children could do,fussed with the baby and generally had a fabulous time ! The gathering itself was the gift.To be able to assemble folks of varied ages and interests into a smiling,happy group,that finishes the evening in the same frame of mind as when it began, is stellar !
We left for home before the ball dropped , but after it was apparent that Mother was about to reach her limit (always better to leave before her point of no return ! ) The roads were deserted and the trip , uneventful...but that night will always be memorable ! Thank you one and all !
