Sleepy Sounds

There are certain sounds which can lull one to sleep. Mine range from Summer's peepers (tiny tree frogs ) and the pond's waterfall outside my window to ocean surf and rain on the roof (preferably a metal roof ) . Last night, after a day of rain , I looked forward to such an entry into slumber . And so it began...all the little details of putting the house and us to bed were taken care of.Once snuggled under the winter-ration of covers (lots and lots ! ) , I relaxed into the business at hand...ignoring the gentle snores from the other bed and drifting off. Ahhhh...there was that wonderful sound...and off we go... Sometime later, that sound changed. It shifted through all the gears of rain ,ending up at the" Wolf and Piggies...Blow Your House Down " stage !!! Excuse me,but that wasn't part of the program I'd asked for ! As the wind roared and the deluge slammed into the house ,I remembered a paraphrased Bible quote, "Man plans and God laughes ". Unknown by me , of course, there was a need for that weather...quite separate from my humble wish for a specific lullaby. Silly girl ! After prayers for the structural integrity of this tract-built house and the safety of my friends , I slept again.

    Hi Katy!
I thought i would come over to visit you, and play catch up with your posts.
The Caregiver 101 sounds very true. Also I am glad you are getting some 'breathers' and have time to do what you need to do, whether it be the dishes or the heavenly nap. Sometimes a nap is the best we could give to ourselves.
I hope your Mom is enjoying the Club and maybe she too sings along with the rest of them?
My doggie is doing better, so i am able to relax a bit now and get around for some much needed visits.
I hope you are having a wonderful week-end. And the snow drive home the other night sounded so beautiful!
