Oh,de Spring...

No,dears,I've not forgotten how to spell "ode "...just longing for warmer weather .Seems silly , I suppose ,as winter has just officially begun,but this is a summer girl here !
The flower and seed catalogs have just begun to arrive...oh,the joy ! Jackson and Perkins , Wayside Gardens , White Flower Farms, Dutch Gardens... aaaahhhhh...
These tempting little booklets are the stuff of dreams.They arrive in the mail , a red pen is scooped up , we settle into a comfy chair...and the world stops for a few minutes ! There are far more circled items than room in my garden , but this is just the first pass . Over the course of the next few days , a winnowing process ensues until only the starred items remain . New catalogs line up for the same scrutiny , with much cross-referencing about price and size,until the wish list is complete.You must realize that monetary considerations never intrude until later...this is a wish list ! Reality may indeed rear its judgmental head and items may never be actually ordered,but this is about dreams...and comfort... so many beautiful blossoms...so much work and research to develop or find them.It lifts the spirit so to see it all , that the acquisition pales.
