Today is a carbon copy of yesterday...grey,cold and rainy . There are benefits,however, to such a day .The darkness remains later into the morning and it is possible to ignore the demands of the day and snuggle into the covers for a bit longer ! A small almost-guilty pleasure.
The kitchen becomes a refuge of steamy soup pots and oven-based fragrances of baking biscuits and later , cookies.
Out comes the favorite sweater ( from an earlier post ) ,and the proper layers are piled on to keep us toasty . What blessings abound ! To be given the raw materials to bring these comforts about and share with friends and neighbors is a delight,most undeserved,but greatly appreciated.
