Sweet Tea & conversation... a lovely way to spend a day

Crystals

Our prelude to winter of the past two days has not been without bits of joy. The rich aroma of a full flavored Fall stew rising on the steam...the luxury of waking earlier than you have to get up and relishing the warmth and coziness of this unscheduled "vacation"... watching the birds fluff up and snuggle into the perch as they wait their turn at the feeder...
This morning , we awakened earlier than usual.A chance glance revealed an unexpected treat - the slightly shaded portion of my neighbor's roof was twinkling like crushed diamonds ! As the sun rose, more of the sparkle spread . A life lesson was proved...beauty is fleeting and must be savored in its moment. Seconds after the glittering show , the warmth of the sun melted the frost...no time to dash for the camera or call a friend to share it... only brief seconds to realize the opportunity and "freeze-frame" it in my memory for later. These tiny snapshots are blessings to nourish and strengthen us .Somehow the focus on them brings a better perspective on the happenings of our day...a reminder that we are small parts of a bigger picture that actually makes sense.
