It is midday and the horrific weather predicted in the wake of Hermine seems to have evaded us for now . Instead of winds gusting up to 40mph with pelting , ever-present rain and flooding , we are enjoying seemingly stolen sunshine and light breezes .
The presence of Labor Day Weekend has always been a bit sad for me...The Summer Girl ...signaling the unofficial end of my favorite season . In quiet rebellion to that signal , every window is open , encouraging summer breezes to permeate every nook and cranny of my little house . The hope is , of course , to
keep summer "in" as long as possible...that when windows are tightly closed and we're locked into freezing , snowbound months some tiny , hidden pocket of summer will whisper of warmer months to come ...aaahhhh...
